Blood Borne Pathogens
In today’s society, it is very important that people know the importance of what any blood borne pathogens are, and how to take care of them.
Today, in many places of business as well in any hospital- wherever you work, they give advice or even classes on how to take care of any bloodborne pathogens if any should arise. It is very crucial that everybody learns on how to take care of the blood and themselves properly. If they do not, it could be a fatal mistake that in the end could cost them their lives. In fact, even some people out there don't know what a bloodborne pathogen is. A bloodborne pathogen is any type of blood that is infected with a disease that is incurable. A few of those diseases are HIV, Aids, and Hepatitis B & C.
When it comes to people getting hurt at work or outside in a car accident, many people are in such a hurry to help the people that they don’t even think of the possibility of them having any blood borne pathogens. All they think about is getting them safe. That is why many places of employment or any college offers some bloodborne pathogen training courses. In the training, they tell you that first off you should get yourself well protected, then go and help the victim. In fact, with many companies it is required by Osha, that blood borne pathogens classes are given to their employees. Many times, the employer will train just the supervisors or certain people. Either way, having gone through a blood borne pathogen course is never bad, especially if it may help you in the future. Once the supervisors are fully trained from the employer, they hope that the supervisors with then start a bloodborne pathogens program that they can start teaching it to other employees; and not have to pay the high price of the training.
In addition, if you go through any blood borne pathogen course, you may look on the bloodborne pathogens fact sheet and it will tell you the percentage of how many people actually contract a disease because of not being properly covered. On the fact sheet, there are many different facts that you may learn. Along with any of the fact sheets, you may also find a bloodborne pathogen booklet in the warehouse at your place of employment. Amongst with one being in the warehouse, you may also find them in your supervisors office, your human resource person, and also in the safety personnel office.
