Antibiotics

The gray area of taking antibiotics is that many people's bodies have developed an antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance is when many harmful bacteria and microorganisms find ways to kill or "work around" antibiotics that are meant to destroy them. This comes from an overuse of antibiotics. Years ago, there were only one or two different kinds of antibiotic drugs and they were only given for certain sicknesses. Penicillin was for many years the only syphilis antibiotic treatment.

In recent years, however, it became the practice of many physicians to prescribe an antibiotic for any illness that could not be diagnosed immediately. They would give an antibiotic "just in case" you may need one. To eliminate this, many people have chosen to take natural antibiotics for illness. Garlic has been considered an effective antibiotic for many years. It is used for ear infections, staff infections and strep.

It would be almost impossible to get a list of every antibiotic as they are coming up with new ones daily and making generic ones as well. If you wonder how do antibiotics work, ask your physician or do some research on your own either online or at your library. If you can find an antibiotics alphabetical list, it will make your research much easier. If you have a concern about taking the wrong antibiotics, you can ask your doctor to do an antibiotic sensitivity testing on you. In spite of all the antibiotics that are available, the most common antibiotics are still amoxicillin, erythromycin or penicillin.

Today antibiotics are used for many different reasons and in different forms. There are many things about antibiotics that we need to be aware of such as the link between weight loss and antibiotics. The use of too many antibiotics in our body will create yeast bacteria, which will prohibit proper weight loss. We need to realize that antibiotics enter our body without our knowledge from many of the foods we eat. If you combine antibiotics and alcohol, you need to be aware that your body may not be getting the full potential out of the antibiotic.

Many young adults are on an acne antibiotic treatment prescribed by their doctor. The most widely used acne antibiotics are Clindamycin, Doxycycline and Erythromycin. If you suffer from respiratory tract infections, your doctor will probably recommend the use of Avelox antibiotic.

Humans are not the only one getting antibiotics almost daily. Our family pets get antibiotics for almost every ailment we see the vet about. Fish antibiotics are used in fish aquariums to cure infections in small fish.
